Artist Bio
My mother said that as a child I carried around a box of "fings".
"Fings" can be best described as bits of fabric, beads, marbles, yard,
sequins, rocks, crayons, etc.
While living in Maine as a child, a neighbor's grandmother moved from Scotland. This tiny Scottish lady taught me how to knit and crochet. This started me on a path of visual and creative exploration that has lasted all my life.
My high school and college years were filled with painting, pottery, beadwork,
photographic and fiber exploration. I recieved a Bachelors Degree in Studio
Art.
I
moved to Richmond, Virginia in 1999 and began taking classes at the Hand Workshop.
I had always loved jewelry but now I was introduced to making it. Working with
silver is definitely a thrill. My creativity has found an outlet that's been
missing for a while.
I hope that my skills continue to grow and I am able to spend more time developing my work.
